Question 1: To make a mix, do you just put all the songs in one folder and then upload the folder? Question 2: Will this still be effective if the files are m4a and not mp3s? Question 3: If no to either, do you have better suggestions? Thanks!

Sorry it has taken me forever to reply! I’ve been dead to the world because of work. FYI, being an adult sucks sometimes.

1. Yes

2. I usually use mp3’s because m4a’s are a pain in the butt sometimes. (You can’t upload m4a’s to 8tracks, tumblr, and oftentimes it’s just easier to use an mp3.) I would love to upload some FLAC files but those would take forever to upload and download and not everyone uses an audio player capable of FLAC playback.

3. iTunes can convert m4a’s to mp3. You just have to right click on the song. You can also use zamzar.com to convert them.

Winter Mixtape

For me, Winter doesn’t really start until January. December is a blur, filled with shopping and seasonal depression. January hits, I begin to slow down and take in the surroundings, the snow falls with more enthusiasm and I curse the sky. The hills and fields are white snow covered canvases and I just pray that I will wake up in the morning to the rich green of spring. I know that my hoping and praying will get me nowhere, I will wake up with a fresh blanket of snow covering the ground. January is too early to wish for Spring, it is too far away still.

This is my Winter mix, something I put together earlier today.

Sleep - The Mixtape

I recently made this mix for a friend because she has trouble getting to sleep. I normally don’t have a problem falling asleep, but on the nights that I struggle with it and end up playing solitaire or minesweeper for hours, I listen to music and eventually I begin to drift off to sleep.

Things you should know about this mix: I normally don’t like putting the same artist on a mix more than once, this is probably the only mix that you will ever find the same artist on multiple times (both Sigur Ros and Explosions in The Sky). I fell asleep while making this mix so I know it works. From the feedback that I’ve received, it also helped my friend fall asleep.
